Brutal Non-Prog Grindcore/Black

"This album is pretty good. Musically, it stays within the boundaries of extreme metal, but it is still multifaceted as it draws on thrash metal, death metal, black metal, melodeath and grindcore. And the band manages to blend all these elements together into a coherent and brutal musical journey through a lyrical universe of war, death and destruction.

There are plenty of blasting grindcore and black metal sequences; just check out "Solution Called War", "Awakening of a Discordant Machine", "Infiltration" and "Cut from Gaia". But the Finns are not afraid of melody, and in addition to atmospheric keyboards and wee piano figures on top of the brutal riffage, there is also room, for a melancholic instrumental in "Swallowed by Defeat" and some heavier thrashiness in "Obey" and the "Final Framework".

I am not a big fan of the vocal style. That is, the screamed vocals are okay, but the growled vocals are just too oinking and piglike for my taste.

Apart from that, this album is pretty awesome and should appeal to fans of both black metal and death metal."
